One of the things I enjoy most about Boca West Country Club is how much of daily life happens outdoors. It’s something I notice every time I drive through the community or walk the Club in the mornings. Our Members are out, moving, connecting, and enjoying the spaces that make this place feel so alive.

Even after all these years, it still makes me smile. There’s a genuine joy in seeing people take advantage of everything the outdoors offers here — not as a special occasion, but as an everyday part of their lifestyle.

Mornings Filled with Activity

Early mornings are some of my favorite moments around the Club.

The four championship golf courses are usually the first to fill. There’s a certain energy in watching our Members set out on those first tee times — chatting, laughing, getting ready for their round. It’s a simple scene, but it’s one that speaks to how connected and active our community is.

Just a short walk away, the Aquatics Center is already moving. Five pools, each with their own purpose, see steady activity from the start of the day. Water aerobics classes are always a highlight for me. Members show up ready to work, and they have fun doing it. You can hear the laughter from across the deck.

Outdoor Spaces With Purpose

As the day goes on, the activity spreads across the Club. The 24 tennis and 25 pickleball courts are rarely empty. With so many courts available, you see everything from competitive matches to friends enjoying a friendly rally. Those interactions remind me how social outdoor living is here.

Families gravitate toward the Kids Splash Pad, and you can always tell when a group of grandchildren is visiting. Their excitement brings a special kind of energy to the Club. Mr. D’s Drive Suites’ outdoor hitting bays have also become a favorite stop throughout the day. Members work on their swings with our PGA pros, enjoy time with friends, or challenge themselves in the simulators.

Another simple space that I see Members enjoying is our vast network of walking and biking paths. These routes weave through the neighborhoods and offer great views of the golf courses, lakes, and beautifully maintained landscaping. Some head out early with their dogs, others take a mid-day bike ride, and many simply enjoy a peaceful walk, waving “hi” to fellow Members along the way.

Afternoons Made for Relaxation and Connection

Afternoons tend to feel a bit more relaxed, but still full of life.

You’ll see Members gathering by the pools, enjoying lunch, or spending time with friends under the sun. Some settle into a book, others catch up with neighbors. Everywhere you look, there’s a sense of ease.

The event lawn is another focal point. With more than 600 annual events, there’s always something being prepared or taking shape outdoors. Seasonal celebrations, golf events, family activities, Tanglewood — this area brings Members together in ways that feel meaningful and fun. I always enjoy seeing how these gatherings evolve throughout the year.

Evenings That Bring Everyone Together

When evening arrives, the Club shifts into a different kind of outdoor experience. Cabanas becomes a natural meeting point for casual dining. Market Square fills with Members heading to dinner or enjoying a drink with friends. And up at Aria’s rooftop, you’ll find some of the best views in the community — especially as the sky settles into those soft evening colors.

These outdoor dining spaces are where conversations linger and the day winds down naturally. It’s one of the things I appreciate most about this community: people truly enjoy being outside together, even as the day comes to a close.

What makes the outdoor lifestyle here so special?

It’s the variety. Golf, tennis, pickleball, aquatics, bocce, outdoor dining, wellness areas, family spaces — our Members use all of it. These aren’t occasional amenities; they’re part of everyday life.

Which outdoor moments stand out to you most?

I always enjoy early mornings. The golf carts lining up, Members greeting each other at the courts, water aerobics already underway. Those first few hours of the day tell you everything about how active this community is.

How would you describe the atmosphere outdoors at the Club?

Welcoming. Social. Positive. There’s always something happening, and people genuinely enjoy being a part of it.

What do you personally appreciate most about seeing Members outdoors?

The sense of connection. Watching Members spend time together, stay active, and enjoy the community. That’s what makes this place special.
