Two Palm Beach County Country Clubs Are Spending $70M-plus to Renovate Clubhouses

Congratulations to Boca West Country Club on making front page news in The Palm Beach post last week for its stunning new additions. The article highlights the jaw-dropping new multi-million-dollar Lifestyle & Racquet Center, a state-of-the-art facility that rivals any five-star resort. The new addition is just one of three spectacular club facilities and features two new dining venues, an expansive aquatic complex, a bevy of expanded fitness studios, 27 tennis courts and 14 pickleball courts, a spa, game lounge, card rooms, business center and more. The Lifestyle & Racquet Center is turning heads and creating envy amongst other Palm Beach County communities, with many new Members racing to join the club prior to the October 1st increase in Membership Fees.

BOCA RATON — How much is enough for renovating a clubhouse?

One private Palm Beach County country clubs is pumping millions of dollars into clubhouse ventures that have reached new levels of extravagance.

The nearly nine-figure investments are startling amounts of money that the private clubs feel is a worthwhile expenditure as new wealthy residents pour into Palm Beach County.

Boca West Country Club, a private club tucked between Glades and Jog roads in suburban Boca Raton, unveiled a $70 million lifestyle center in late July.

Boca West Country Club’s new lifestyle center is 110,000 square feet in size, nearly double of what it was before, and stands two stories tall. An unveiling for the fully renovated center was held July 29.

“Our new Lifestyle Center rivals any five-star resort in the world and our members are thrilled,” Matthew Linderman, the club’s president and CEO said. “Generations of family members are enjoying the amenities, and we are excited to take each of these activities to a supremely higher level.”

A $70 million renovation at Boca West Country Club: What’s included?

Part of the new Lifestyle & Racquet Center at Boca West is its aquatic complex — a 96,000-square-foot area featuring five pools. It has 20,000 square feet of fitness studios featuring spin, aerobics, Pilates and core training technology. Also included is:

  • A spa featuring 36 hair and nail stations with a separate barber shop for men.
  • A card room made up of 57 tables, and a poker room with six tables.
  • A game lounge with three billiard tables, two ping-pong tables and one shuffleboard court.
  • A lifestyle locker room with steam rooms, whirlpools and showers.
  • A business center with five desktops and two printers.

“The $70 million lifestyle center and all other improvements at Boca West Country Club are paid by “joining fees,” Linderman said. Boca West Country Club has announced new Membership rates that will go into effect on October 1st, 2024, raising the joining fee from $115,000 to $150,000. If you are considering making a move to Boca West, September is “go time.”
